So long Wayward Hawk, Hello Dawnedge War!
As you know for the last year I was working on book 3 of the Dragon Realms Saga: Wayward Hawk. However after sometime writing it, I came to the realization that it just wasn’t a good fit for the series.
Don’t get me wrong, I still think its a fun story and worthy of writing, but with the larger than life characters and incredible power creep, Elucard and his crew were just being left in the dust of these fantastically strong characters.
Where the first two books was a down to earth story of assassins, Wayward Hawk was too much like Dragonball Z. Like I said, it just wasn’t a good fit.
I still plan on bringing the Magi to the forefront with book 4: The Mage King, however until then, I’d like this new book 3 to be more closer to the realm of where Vendetta’s Rise was. In fact this new book “The Dawnedge War” is close too the second half of Vendetta’s Rise. It will take place in New Estinia and face an unavoidable war featuring dragon riders, aerial combat, and the continuing development of Elucard and Koda.
Already I have the outline complete and I just finished writing the 2nd chapter as I’m writing this article. I wish to have a first draft done by the end of Spring, but we’ll have to see where I’m at by then.
